园区概况

亚特兰大植物园(Atlanta Botanical Garden)位于佐治亚州亚特兰大市匹兹堡大道1345号,毗邻皮德蒙特公园,是一座占地30英亩的城市绿洲。植物园于1976年正式对外开放,园内拥有获奖的儿童花园、独特的树冠步道(Canopy Walk)和风景如画的天际线花园。2015年,植物园在盖恩斯维尔开设的分园正式运营,设有东南部最大的保护苗圃。

Garden Overview

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is located at 1345 Piedmont Avenue, adjacent to Piedmont Park in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia. The Garden opened in 1976 and has become the emerald jewel of Atlanta culture. Spanning 30 acres, the Garden features an award-winning Children’s Garden, the unique Canopy Walk through Storza Woods, and the picturesque Skyline Garden. The Gainesville location, opened in 2015, celebrates years of planning and development of one of North Georgia’s most beautiful landscapes, home to the largest conservation nursery in the Southeast.

Mission and Conservation

The Garden’s mission is “to develop and maintain plant collections for the purposes of display, education, conservation, research and enjoyment.” The Southeastern Center for Conservation advances conservation science through conservation genetics, evolutionary studies, demographic studies, and innovative partnerships. With international conservation interests in the Caribbean (Puerto Rico, Cuba, the Virgin Islands) and Ecuador, the Garden is committed to positively affecting international plant populations through research, conservation, education and restoration.

Activities and Classes

The Garden offers diverse educational programs for visitors of all ages. Adult classes refine gardening skills, explore the natural world, and develop artistic talents through courses on botanical watercolor, cyanotype printing, orchid drawing, and turtle keeping basics. The Outdoor Kitchen series features Atlanta’s top chefs in plant-to-plate culinary experiences. The Sheffield Botanical Library houses over 11,400 books and 162 periodicals.

Children’s programming includes weekly Tuesday Garden Playtime, Wednesday Storybook Time, Thursday Garden Grooves, and Saturday Shows for Seedlings performances. Summer highlights include the Enchanted Creative Garden Summer Camp and Seeds to Snacks Summer Camp. School groups enjoy guided field trips, while families can participate in special events like Girl Scouts in the Garden.

Annual signature events include Niki in the Garden (celebrating the Garden’s 50th anniversary in 2026 with a special encore exhibition of monumental sculptures), Thursday evening Cocktails in the Garden during summer months, Music in the Garden weekends at the Gainesville location, and the Birdhouse Competition.

Membership and Benefits

Garden members enjoy unlimited daytime entry during regular Garden hours, invitations to exclusive events and premieres, discounts in the Garden Gift Shop, and reciprocal benefits at over 380 gardens across North America through the American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Admission Program. Veterans and active-duty service members receive a $5 discount on both daytime admission and Garden Lights, Holiday Nights tickets.
