中国植物图像库（PPBC）由中国科学院植物研究所（IBCAS）国家植物标本资源库（NPSRC）于 2008 年发起建立的，是中国最全面、最权威的植物专题图像库。该库得到了全国植物分类专家和爱好者的支持，确保了物种识别的可靠性。PPBC 采用的分类系统包括：对蕨类植物和石松类植物采用 PPG I 系统，对被子植物采用 APG IV 系统（在科级别），以及采用《中国植物物种名录》在属和种级别。PPBC 拥有约 72,000 名注册用户，包括植物学家、植物学相关专业学生和植物爱好者。从 2008 年至 2023 年，通过用户贡献，该库共收集了 1,430 万张植物图像。其中，1,190 万张图像已鉴定到种级别，涵盖了 61,000 个物种（包括亚种），分布在 6,629 个属和 548 个科。值得注意的是，《中国植物物种名录》（2023 版）记录的中国原生植物中，77.4%的物种、95.4%的属和 99.4%的科在 PPBC 中均有收录，此外还包含一些外来物种。
The Plant Photo Bank of China (PPBC), initiated and operated by the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IBCAS) in 2008 and based on the National Plant Specimen Resource Center, is the most comprehensive and authoritative plant-specific image bank in China. It has been supported by plant taxonomists across the country, ensuring reliable species identifications. The classification system adopted by PPBC includes the PPG I for lycophytes and ferns, APG IV for angiosperms at the family level, and the Checklist of plant species in China for genus and species levels. The PPBC boasts approximately 72,000 registered users, comprising taxonomists, botany students, and enthusiasts. From 2008 to 2023, it collected a total of 14.3 million plant images through user contributions. Of these, 11.9 million images have been identified to the species level, covering 61,000 species (including infraspecies) across 6,629 genera and 548 families. Notably, 77.4% of the species, 95.4% of the genera, and 99.4% of the families of Chinese native plants, as recorded by the Checklist of plant species in China (2023 Edition), are represented in the PPBC, along with some foreign species.
