中国植物图像库（PPBC）由中国科学院植物研究所的国家植物标本资源库在 2008 年发起建立，是国内面向植物分类学者和爱好者的公开图库。图像库由植物分类专家与各地爱好者共同上传维护，物种鉴定可靠，覆盖范围以《中国植物物种名录》的分类体系为主，同时参考全球植物名录。
库藏规模
截至公开数据，PPBC 注册用户约 7.2 万人，汇集图像 1430 万张，其中 1190 万张已鉴定到种级别，涵盖约 6.1 万个物种（含亚种、品种），分布在 6629 个属、548 个科。《中国植物物种名录》（2023 版）记录的原生植物中，77.4% 的物种、95.4% 的属和 99.4% 的科在图库中均有图像，另收录部分外来物种。
分类体系
PPBC 使用的分类系统在蕨类植物和石松类植物部分采用 PPG I 系统，被子植物在科级采用 APG IV 系统，属级与种级使用《中国植物物种名录》。图像按专题、类群、地域、壁纸等维度整理，专题数量 348 个、类群 97903 条、地域覆盖 2731 处，提供高级检索与随便看看两种浏览方式。

Background
The Plant Photo Bank of China (PPBC) was launched in 2008 by the National Plant Specimen Resource Center at the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is a public image bank serving taxonomists and enthusiasts across the country. The collection is built through contributions from plant taxonomists and amateur photographers, ensuring reliable species identifications. The bank follows the Checklist of plant species in China as its main classification backbone, while also integrating global plant names and common cultivar lists.
Collection scale
As of the latest public disclosure, PPBC has around 72,000 registered users and holds 14.3 million plant images in total. Of these, 11.9 million images have been identified to the species level, covering about 61,000 species (including infraspecies and cultivars) across 6,629 genera and 548 families. Within the native plants recorded by the Checklist of plant species in China (2023 edition), 77.4% of species, 95.4% of genera, and 99.4% of families are represented in the bank, alongside additional foreign species.
Classification system
PPBC uses PPG I for lycophytes and ferns, APG IV for angiosperms at the family level, and the Checklist of plant species in China at the genus and species level. Images are organised into 348 topics, 97,903 taxa groups, and 2,731 geographic regions. The site provides both advanced search and a casual browse mode for visitors.
