历史沿革
丛林音乐棕榈和苏铁苗圃（ Jungle Music ）由菲尔·伯格曼（Phil Bergman）于 1977 年在美国加州创办。菲尔·伯格曼曾是加州大学旧金山医学院的急诊室医生，因对棕榈植物的热爱而走上园艺之路。创业之初，他在家中后院经营，只有一人打理。随着业务扩大，苗圃于 1995 年左右迁至加州恩西尼塔斯（Encinitas），毗邻圣迭戈。2025 年 3 月，苗圃再次搬迁至同一区域的新址。如今，苗圃已发展成为占地约 2.5 英亩的专业苗圃，设施包括可容纳 50 人的教育中心和新的展示花园。
家族传承

History
Jungle Music Palm & Cycad Nursery was founded in 1977 by Phil Bergman in San Diego, California. Bergman, a former emergency room physician at the Scripps Hospital system, developed his passion for palms during medical school. What began as a one-man backyard nursery operation has grown into a 2.5-acre specialized nursery in Encinitas, North San Diego County. In March 2025, the nursery relocated to a new nearby facility featuring a 50-seat education center and new display garden.
Family Legacy
Jungle Music is a true family business. Phil Bergman’s son Jesse Bergman joined the nursery in the late 1990s and now serves as Nursery Manager, bringing extensive knowledge in cycad propagation and sales. Younger son Paul Bergman manages the company’s website and IT operations. Phil’s wife Mitzi Bergman serves as plant finder and bookkeeper, while Jesse’s wife Blanca Bergman has long assisted with nursery operations. The staff combines over 100 years of collective experience in horticulture.
Product Range
The nursery specializes in palms, cycads, and tropical plants, offering over 1000 species including rare and unusual varieties alongside quality common species. Customer base ranges from hobbyists and collectors to professional horticultural institutions. The nursery also stocks tropical foliage and flowering companion plants to meet diverse landscaping needs.

Industry Recognition
Phil Bergman served as President of the International Palm Society until 2000 and has been a long-time director of the Palm Society of Southern California. Both Phil and Jesse Bergman are published authors and sought-after speakers on palms and cycads at industry events. The nursery supplies plants to major theme parks and botanical gardens including Disneyland, Legoland, SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, and the Huntington Botanical Gardens, earning a distinguished reputation in the horticulture industry.
