Organization Overview
The Alliance for Community Trees (ACTrees) is a vital network in America’s urban forestry sector, founded in 1993. The organization merged into the Arbor Day Foundation in 2015, becoming one of its dedicated programs focused on community tree planting and stewardship. ACTrees unites local tree planting organizations nationwide, working collectively to improve community environments and enhance residents’ quality of life through trees. Over two decades, member organizations have planted more than 15 million trees with over 5 million volunteers.
Mission
ACTrees’ mission is to “improve community environment while investing in people.” The organization builds a national urban forestry network that enables scattered local tree planting organizations to work synergistically.
