Company overview

ecoDynamics Group is an integrated landscape construction company headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, founded in 1989. The company began in Melbourne’s Werribee and Point Cook areas, when three partners established a business providing weed-spraying and park-mowing services.

After 37 years of development, the group now operates across Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales, employing more than 150 people. ecoDynamics installs over 1.4 million plants and trees annually, recycles 115,945 cubic metres of timber each year, and is also a Certified B Corporation achieving 87.2 points on the B Impact Assessment.

Integrated landscape solutions

ecoDynamics follows a “one-stop-shop” model that covers the entire landscape project lifecycle, organised into three divisions: landscape construction, landscape materials and landscape services. The construction division delivers major infrastructure projects including the EastLink motorway, roads surrounding Western Sydney Airport and Melbourne’s South Parklands, with capabilities spanning rail corridors, road upgrades, wetlands, rain gardens and public parklands. The services division operates a specialised fleet of hydroseeders, hydromulchers, blower trucks and slinger trucks that can install 20-40 cubic metres of material in four hours with just two operators — two to four times the speed of manual labour. The group also provides design advisory, project coordination and a 24-month post-handover maintenance program.

Nursery and material production

The group operates two large-scale production facilities in Victoria and South Australia, producing over two million indigenous plants annually across aquatic, terrestrial and riparian species, supplied in hiko, tube and 600cc community tray formats. Its Mossrock™ brand produces AS4454-compliant recycled mulch at the Epping and Dandenong facilities, with product lines including recycled mulch, coloured mulch, soft fall (AS4422-compliant), pine bark, euca mulch and bush mulch. The soil product line includes T&G, PPM, E2, GRM and LPPM blends developed in collaboration with soil scientists for turf, shallow and deep planters, green roofs and lightweight applications. The group’s Victorian wholesale nursery is also a social enterprise, donating 50% of its profits to the Greening the West planting initiative.

Sustainability and social impact

ecoDynamics pursues a vision of “Creating Greener Futures”, recycling the equivalent of 11,000 truckloads of waste timber into mulch each year and keeping this material out of landfill. Its planting programs have donated 28,220 trees to community plantings and recycled 5,250 kilograms of rigid plastics. The group holds ISO 14001 environmental management certification and has reaffirmed its commitments to transparent governance, fair employment and community contribution through B Corp certification. Operationally, the group supports flexible work arrangements, runs the Tim Morgan Scholarship for employee development, and promotes a diverse and inclusive workplace culture. Service facilities span the Melbourne headquarters at Keilor East, the Epping and Dandenong South mulch plants, Penfield Gardens in SA and Rossmore in NSW.
