公司概况与一百一十余年的沿革

株式会社サカタのタネ(SAKATA SEED CORPORATION,以下简称「酒田种苗」)是日本规模最大的种苗公司,总部位于神奈川县横滨市都筑区仲町台二丁目。1913 年(大正 2 年)创业者坂田武雄在横滨市郊区域的六角桥设立「坂田农园」,从欧美引入百合(ユリ)球根出口业务起家,1914 年改称朝日农园,1916 年起转以种子销售为主,1921 年开设日本民间企业首间发芽试验室并设立芝加哥支店。1923 年关东大地震使横滨本社毁损,公司在灾后转入重建。1942 年坂田种苗株式会社正式成立,1986 年更名为株式会社サカタのタネ,1987 年成为种苗业界首家在东京证券交易所市场第二部上市的企业,1990 年升格至市场第一部,2022 年 4 月改为东京证券交易所主要市场至今。注册资本 135 亿日元,截至 2026 年 5 月期末单体员工 694 名,连结员工 3,108 名,平均年龄 39.3 岁,平均连续工龄 15.6 年。2026 年 5 月期连结销售额 1,042 亿 8,000 万日元(约合人民币 50 亿元),经常利润 142 亿 7,800 万日元。现任代表取缔役会长为坂田 宏,代表取缔役社长为加々美 勉。社章自 1927 年起沿用百合图案化设计,象征创业初期以横滨港输出百合球根渡过经营难关的历史。

2026 年度连结业绩显示销售额 1,042 亿 8,000 万日元、经常利润 142 亿 7,800 万日元,事业基础稳固。2026 年 8 月起人事体制调整为坂田 宏任代表取缔役会长、加々美 勉升任代表取缔役社长,古木 利彦与高宫 全就任董事专务执行役,菅原 邦彦、尾崎 行正、渡边 雅子 3 位任外部董事,强化了研究与管理本部的治理体制。同年度发表的主要新品种包括冬季收获用大葱「冬扇福尔特」、甜玉米「黄金冲击」、以及 2027 年 GREEN×EXPO 出展用的「未来之花」主题品种系列。2026 年 9 月公布至 2030 年为止「花是心灵的营养、蔬菜是身体的营养」的品牌愿景延伸项目,旨在通过都市绿化提案、食育活动、可持续发展目标达成支援等方式拓展公司在生活文化层面的价值提供。

About the Company and a Century of History

SAKATA SEED CORPORATION (Kabushiki Kaisha SAKATA NO TANE) is Japan’s largest seed and young-plant company, headquartered in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. The company was founded as Sakata Farm (Sakata Nouen) by Takeo Sakata in 1913, in the Rokakubai district. The founder started by exporting lily bulbs from Yokohama Port to Europe and North America. The company was reorganized as Sakata Seed Corporation in 1942 and renamed SAKATA SEED CORPORATION in 1986. Listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market since 2022. Paid-in capital 13.5 billion yen. As of May 2026 the company has 694 employees on a standalone basis and 3,108 on a consolidated basis, with 104.28 billion yen consolidated net sales and 14.28 billion yen ordinary profit for the fiscal year ending May 2026. Hiroshi Sakata is the Chairman of the Board, and Tsutomu Kagami is the President. The corporate emblem, designed in 1927, depicts a stylised lily in tribute to the early export business.

Business Lines and Global Research Network

The SAKATA Group divides the world into four regions: Asia-Oceania, North-Central America, South America, and Europe-Middle East-Africa. Core businesses are the production and sale of seeds, young plants, bulbs and horticultural supplies, as well as breeding, research, and contract seed production technology guidance. The group also undertakes landscape greening, greenhouse and agricultural facility works. The company runs five main research stations in Japan (Hokkaido, Kimitsu, Misato, Kakegawa and Ishigaki) and seven overseas stations covering temperate, subtropical and tropical climate zones, in the United States (Woodland, Salinas, Florida and Mount Vernon), Mexico (Culiacan and Yurecuaro), France (Uchaud), Denmark (Odense), Thailand (Khonkaen), India (Bengaluru) and Brazil (Bragança Paulista). The group slogan PASSION in Seed was adopted at the 100th anniversary in 2013, with the seven letters representing Passion, Achievement, Sincerity, Smile, Initiative, Originality and Noble.

Recent Performance and Representative Varieties

For the fiscal year ending May 2026 the group posted consolidated net sales of 104.28 billion yen and ordinary profit of 14.28 billion yen. The leadership transition in August 2026 saw Hiroshi Sakata become Chairman of the Board, Tsutomu Kagami appointed President, and Toshihiko Furuki and Atsushi Takamiya both appointed Senior Managing Director. Independent outside directors Kunihiko Sugawara, Yukimasa Ozaki and Masako Watanabe continue to strengthen the research and management governance. Recent new varieties include the winter-harvest Welsh onion Fusan Forte (Tosen Forte), the sweet corn Gold Rush Joiner (Gold Rush Joiner), and the Mirai no Hana (Future Flower) series developed for the GREEN x EXPO 2027 exhibition.

Domestic Offices and Production Logistics

In Japan the group operates the head office in Yokohama and seven regional branches in Sapporo, Sendai, Yokohama, Chiba, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka, supported by five research stations in Hokkaido (Higashikagura), Kimitsu (Sodegaura), Misato (Azumino), Kakegawa and Ishigaki, plus one logistics center in Yaita. Production and logistics are managed by Sakata Logistics Corporation, with five regional affiliates handling seedling production, landscape works and human-resource services. These include Yamagataceltop, Hida Celtop, Fukuoka Celtop, Brolead, Sakata Techno Service and Green Service Corporation.
