Topiary Joe was founded in 1992 by Joe Kyte in Tellico Plains, Tennessee, specializing in large-scale Living Sculpture Topiary art. Located at the southern entrance to the Cherokee National Forest along the Cherohala Skyway, the studio serves clients worldwide with custom-designed sculpture installations.
Art Form and Scale
Topiary Joe is renowned for creating massive steel-wire topiary sculptures, with the largest works reaching up to 64 feet 10 inches (approximately 19.8 meters) in height. These living sculptures serve fine homes, gardens, resorts, and corporate branding projects globally. The frames are handcrafted from three-eighths inch smooth round steel, bent and welded into organic curves and shapes. Sculptures can be planted with shrubs growing into the frame, filled with sphagnum moss and planted with vines, succulents, annuals or perennials, or decorated with UV-inhibitor treated artificial boxwood.

The studio offers complete services from design and fabrication to delivery and installation. Large sculptures ship from the Tennessee workshop (FOB Tellico Plains) or are built on-site.
