裸根苗木模式
金枝树木农场的核心理念是只销售裸根植物，不含花盆、土壤或额外的人工销售成本。裸根苗木在休眠状态下出土移栽，春秋两季是最佳种植窗口。农场提供三种规格：一年生至三年生的实生苗（Seedlings）价格亲民但需更多养护；经过移栽培育的成株（Transplants）拥有紧凑的纤维根系系统，移栽成活率高；超出邮寄尺寸的超大规格（Oversized Stock）则仅供现场自提，同等价格享受更大株型。
产品种类
农场拥有丰富的树种资源，涵盖果树、观赏树、针叶树、遮荫树、坚果树、本土灌木与树木，以及稀有多花植物等多个品类。产品包括美国李、满洲樱桃、哈尔滨梨等耐寒品种，以及苹果、梨等传统果树的多种砧木选择。所有树苗按加拿大植物耐寒区划标注气候适应性，帮助客户选择适合本地条件的品种。
Permaculture理念

Golden Bough Tree Farm, located in eastern Ontario about 50 km northwest of Kingston near Marlbank, has been cultivating rare and native plants for over 53 years. What began as exhausted farmland has been transformed into a thriving ecological environment through three generations of careful stewardship. The farm specializes in growing plants from seed, with mature trees now distributed across every province of Canada.
Bare-Root Model
The core philosophy at Golden Bough Tree Farm is selling only bare-root plants—without pots, soil, or sales staff markups. Trees ship in dormant states, with spring and autumn being the optimal planting windows. Three sizes are offered: cost-effective seedlings (1–3 years old) that require more care, transplants with compact fibrous root systems for higher survival rates, and oversized stock available for farm pickup only at regular prices.
Product Range
The catalog spans fruit trees, ornamental trees, evergreens, shade trees, nut trees, native shrubs and trees, and rare flora. Offerings include cold-hardy varieties like American Plum, Manchu Cherry, and Harbin Pear, alongside diverse apple and pear rootstocks. All seedlings are labeled with Canadian plant hardiness zones to help customers select appropriate species for their local climate.
Permaculture Approach
Golden Bough Tree Farm has integrated permaculture principles into its propagation methods, creating growing environments that mirror natural forest ecosystems. Mature trees in the nursery provide shade and protection for young seedlings, with many producing the very seeds used for the next generation of cultivation. This seed-to-mature-tree cycle ensures each tree sold carries ecological continuity.
Ordering and Shipping
Spring ordering runs from February 1 to April 20 annually. Customers can pick up at the farm (mid to late April) or choose flat-rate shipping: $50 for Ontario and Quebec, $65 for all other provinces, with a $100 minimum. Trees ship via Canada Post in dormant states, expertly packed in recycled grain bags with damp shredded paper or wood shavings and bamboo stakes for support.
