Company Overview

Westbridge Agricultural Products was founded in 1982 in Vista, California as a developer and manufacturer of organic and conventional plant nutrients, biopesticides and specialty inputs, and is now the United States arm of SAN Agrow, the plant health business unit of SAN Group formed by joining the United States operations of Westbridge with the Austrian biotech firm bio-ferm. Its portfolio covers biopesticides, biofungicides, bioherbicides, plant nutrients, biostimulants and plant growth regulators based on microbial fermentations and plant extracts for both organic and conventional farming systems.

Development History

Westbridge was founded in 1982 in Vista, California to develop and deliver effective plant nutrients, biopesticides and specialty inputs. In 2004, bio-ferm was spun out of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Tulln, Austria, joined Erber Group in 2007 and won the Karl-Ritter-von-Ghega innovation award in 2008 for the biofungicide BLOSSOM PROTECT. In 2020, Erber acquired Westbridge, divested the combined crop-protection arm to Royal DSM, and Westbridge and bio-ferm were carved out into the newly formed SAN Group. In 2021, Westbridge was rebranded SAN Group Biotech USA Inc. and bio-ferm became SAN Agrow Holding GmbH.
